Real quick, go back to chapter 40 and look at the shoe Som is wearing when she is with her mom , and the shoe she is wearing at the end of the chapter when "she" met Sol
-
She also didn't have an episode when she attacked the boyfriend. MC would've gone much further than that, if not flipped the switch much earlier.
-
The whole arc was a flashback for the mom, and helps shed light on why she's so unhinged and where she got her strong mentality about people and unchanging habits.
As someone else pointed out, in chapter 40 you can see the shoes at the start and the end being completely different, which was a nice and sneaky way to show it wasn't the MC.
On top of that, the personalities were very very different. I thought it was odd how she was so clingy and eager to change when MC was not nearly anything like this, just paranoid when it came to her mom, who definitely would've flipped/caught on to this stuff happening.
However, there's one thing that didn't happen that threw me off, but I overlooked: She didn't go through an episode like MC did. Her getting mad at the boyfriend? MC would've done more than that, actually cause him some damage. This was definitely the biggest tip off.
WHAT. I HAVE TO GO BACK AND RE-READ SO MUCH.
I'm sure Som was interacting with characters from her present (her friends, the red haired guy), so is it only the scenes concerning Sol that are flashbacks? Does she ever make any reference to Sol during the scenes when she's with those other characters? I did think it was a shade odd that they never all interacted. And it makes so much sense now why her character seemed so much more emotional around Sol. I thought it was weird how quickly she was going off the deep end, but figured 'hey, that's the title I guess'. What a fool I was π

Gil Somyung mentions Sol once. She has a thought that Geona reminds her of Myungjin, but he also shares similarities with Sol. It's possible when she was looking through her mom's photos, GilSo also found out that Sol's mother beat her.
-
Do you remember what chapter that was? I see in 65/66 she compares him to her brother and later that he mentions being beaten, but not that she has any thoughts about Sol
Can we talk about how well written this manhwa is!? Writing two storylines simultaneously and merging them so perfectly π€π» I also love the writer's decision to give the mom the blurred skin look. It really helped with the sinister look.
So season 2 has parts with the daughter in the (senior-)high school and parts with the mother's flashback in the same (senior-)high school,
now we can notice new characters the daughter met never show up the same time when the deceased Sol is appearing.
HUHH WHATTTTT SO IT WAS HER MOM ALL ALONG??? ONG THIS IS AMAZING
this few past chapter made me flabbergasted π why is this manhwa so underrated
but having the same name as your daughter…she did mention Somyeong is the perfect "copy" of her, so I guess that what she meant π this crazy ah women, how did she even got married. but heyyy Mom face reveal

What do you think? π

Holy fuck. The twist. I need to reread this arc from the start.
