So, all scenes where Sol and her mother were present, it was actually our main character's mom (the blurred skin one) during her childhood (1991). But because they look so similar, we didn't realise(it was the author's intention). There were minor signs throughout (like the convo MC and mom had in the car about dating and other things) even her personality is a bit different than our MC. Their names are similar, MC = Gil So Myung and Mom = Min So Myung, increasing the confusion.
All the scenes with the red haired boy, MC's childhood friend and the crazy old lady on the street(who is revealed to be Sol's mother) is the present.
Give it a reread, it's actually interesting how smoothly yet distinctively they have written this. We barely realise that Sol and the Red Haired boy are never shown in the same scene. (Which is a big hint since Sol is supposed to be Mom's bestfriend, yet we never saw her at the trip as well, they aligned it well with Sol's hospital arc. And I guess the reason we never saw her otherwise is because she skips classes/has skating practice)
Side note: The password of the Mom's office is the very date she murdered Sol🥲
Thanks you are a true genius. The story is a masterpiece but I was so confused when i reach chapter 77. I kinda understood when i read chapter 77 that the arc was centered around the mother but I was confused. You made things clear. But please I have few questions. in this chapter you can see Mc = Gil so Myung opening her mother's secret box in the office and when looking at the picture said" who is this girl standing next to me" ( referring to Sol in the picture). What did she mean? if sol was mother's friend (the blurred one wo killed her son with apple juice in early chapters ) then that means the current mc= Gil So Myung never met nor know Sol. Sol and mother (depicted as blurred skin tone in the series) lived in 1991. So I am assuming the MC =Gil So Myung looked like her mother = Min So Myung so much that she taught it was her on the picture which is a mistake by her. Am I correct? The old lady who stalked Mc = Gil So Myung was Sol's mother in 1991 who came for revenge
So in sum
Mother = Min so Myung or the blurred skin one is the one who killed her son with apple juice. She is the one who knew and killed Sol and made her mother go to prison.MC = Gil So Myung is the one who lost her little brother in early chapters, who has her nerd childhood friend, who interacted with red hair guy, who met the crazy old lady she never know( Who is revealed to be Sol's mother). She is also the Mc who swear to take revenge on her mother =Min So Myung because her mother killed the orange hair girl who was a bully with MC
Am I right with everything ? Anyway the story is the best I've ever seen

IKRRR I love this manhwa so much. If there's a similar manhwa, please recommendOk I see. That makes sense why the MC thought it was her on the picture. Thanks bro. and regarding other similar manhwa I would recommend : " Bastard". Maybe you already know it but it looks like" like mother like daughter" but the main characters are a father and his son. very interesting. This is the only the manga that crossed my mind when I read " like mother like daughter ". other similar manhwa you might really like are:
Muse on famous: One of the best i really like. It does not need any synopsis. just read it. you will not regret it
Save me: very depressing. It talks about a disable high school student who deals with bullying, internal struggle, drama. very deep
Judge and executioner: It is about a young man who have his parents killed by a serial killer. the mc will have to do everything to get his revenge in a system that condemn the death penalty. The story is about revenge, justice, drama and suffering
sisters at wars: one of my favorite. it is about 2 sisters who fight against each other to gain their mother acknowledgment. it has a lot of unexpected plot twists regarding the mother, the whole family and the story deals with internal struggle, bullying
Horizon: It is about 2 children who are trying to survive in a war torn world. the humanity has collapsed and we follow their journey to find a peaceful place. on their way, they will have to face many struggles. This is certainly one of the saddest and depressing stories I've read. Highly recommended
A mark against thee: it is about a young guy who was falsely accused of a crime he never committed. He spent many years in prison I think 17 and when he was proved innocent the world has changed a lot. His friends, family, school , everything. Then he was consumed with hate for the injustice and loneliness and decided to take revenge on everyone that caused his suffering. This manhwa is very deep
Sweet home: the story is about a young boy who moved to a new apartment and is seeking to commit suicide on a specific date. But he will realize soon that the world is falling part and people are no longer the same. I do not want to give too much details on it as you really need to read it to understand it. It is very interesting, deep, talks about survival
Dreaming freedom: it is about a high school student who is bullied by his childhood friend. I've just started the story so I am not very fat but It is worth reading. the story is very depressing and delves into the depth of drama, psychological, bullying. it is very deep
There is no specific order but i would highly recommend: Muse on famous, save me , sisters at wars.
Anyway All of them are very dark, deep, depressing and very good. Good readOmg this is so detailed!
