My guess is that Soryeon told them that MC has ties with the manager so the others will spread rumors and/or keep their distance and isolate her(him).
OH and Soae seems very sus this chapter. I'm guessing her reason to become an idol had something to do with our MC. That would make sense since she seems to be more affected/hurt by the bullying rumors than others we've seen until now. Maybe she felt it like a betrayal of sorts. I might even venture to think that she could have had gotten a liking to him, before it all exploded.
