why do people stay in these groups after seeing others getting beaten up for one failure
life is full of failures, you'd be guaranteed to receive a beating like that at least once in your life
wouldnt you want to avoid it instead

Because if they leave they will either be killed because they can become snitches or join another gang or something in between most of them have to give something to leave plus it's their only income since nobody wants to hire a thug except other gangs
