Okay, the had me on the first half, not gonna lie. I was about to call bullshit on the author, but the more I read, the more weird and exaggerated it looked. It just HAD to be some kind of ploy. Thankfully it makes more sense now why he conveniently forgot.
That being said, this freaking game is diabolical.
Also, call me paranoid, but I wonder if the self-brainwashing will come back to bite his ass later. It seemed a bit far fetched that he had to choose something so specific. Either he did that because it was true that he loved her the first few regressions, or this smells like foreshadowing. Either way, I hope it comes back into play later.
