Oh my. Ruthless. But while I understand one reason for which that would make sense, I think it can lead to serious misunderstandings. Unless I am the one misunderstanding something here.
My reasoning is that the father loves MC so much, he'd rather have his body and be able to bury it, than let the Zipple torture him or do who knows what with his corpse. But I don't know if he would actually pretend for people to try to kill MC outright, or the reason if it was the case.
