I think MC couldn't let go of his inferiority complex and still felt threatened by his looks, just like how he can't let go of his attachment for his male body now. And it clearly mirrors the situation that he (she) is having with Soyeon, the other girl who told him (her) to quit early.
Now, speaking of lingering attachments, it's clear that MC still has attachments to his school life, the trauma and the infamy he gained unfairly. I feel that being able to move on from that, and truly starting a new life, is going to be the hardest hurdle to overcome for him. I'm rooting for Ya, kid!
