I mean, she has a point. From her perspective, it's a totally reasonable thing to think. It's not like she's saying "haha you don't have any talent you should just quit and stop dreaming", she's saying "hey, if you're gonna stay, you better take it seriously, we all do". But for MC that will sound like a sledgehammer to the face, since it's exactly the opposite of what he's been struggling with until now.
