Although the Zerg were all one race, they could be divided into two primary branches.
Zerg Queens—the creators and rulers of the Zerg Army.
Zerg Servants—soldiers who existed solely to obey and protect their Queens.
The latter’s numbers vastly exceeded those of the Queens. Individually, their strength wasn’t much lower either.
Given sufficient nourishment and opportunities, some could even surpass the very Queen that had given birth to them.
Yet, these Zerg Servants were just that—mere servants.
They possessed no independent will, existing solely to obey the commands of their Queen.
Only in extremely rare circumstances was this not the case.
Some rare individuals would be born among them periodically who managed to escape their bloodline shackles and awaken a consciousness.
All this information surfaced within Liora’s mind as she watched the rapidly approaching Zerg Servants.
Perhaps because the fleeing demon had noticed her while growing increasingly desperate, he immediately changed direction, hoping to use her to create an opportunity for survival.
It didn’t take long.
Only moments later, both he and the pursuing Zerg Servants arrived in front of her.
"Liothar! Be careful!"
"These Zerg are too powerful! Come and help me!", the demon shouted, a trace of hope flashing within his eyes.
Although his words sounded like a warning and request, they left Liora with no opportunity to refuse.
By the time he reached her, the Zerg Servants had already noticed her presence.
How could a race born for destruction and devouring ignore the prey that appeared before them?
The instant they rushed past her, several of the Zerg Servants split away from the group and charged directly toward Liora.
She couldn’t help but feel speechless.
She had heard stories of such incidents before.
However, this was the first time she had personally experienced one.
Even so, she remained perfectly calm.
Her gaze swept across the incoming Zerg Servants. Every one of them possessed King-level strength and was considered a true powerhouse in the Cosmic Universe.
Although each individual Servant was slightly weaker than a true King, their overwhelming numbers more than compensated for that disadvantage.
"Aeor ranks among the stronger Rank 8 King demons. Normally, even other Kings would struggle to suppress him."
"To be able to force him to such a state, these creatures’ power is self-evident."
The Zerg’s greatest advantage had always been their numbers.
Given sufficient time to expand their brood, a Zerg Queen could easily overwhelm opponents several stages above her own, much less those on the same level.
As one of the races standing alongside Devils, the Zerg were truly unfathomable.
Liora sighed.
Watching the incoming Servants wave their claws and rush toward her, she didn’t wait for them to arrive.
Instead, she shot forward.
Her lizard-like claws slashed outward, colliding head-on with their carapace-covered limbs.
Sparks scattered everywhere.
Liora was forced several steps backward, while the Zerg Servants she had struck were likewise pushed back.
Of course, that wasn’t enough to stop them.
Like puppets who had been programmed to fight no matter what, they charged at her once more without hesitation.
In the distance, the King demon witnessed the scene and breathed a sigh of relief.
His plan had succeeded.
With part of the Zerg Servants occupied by Liora, dealing with the remaining ones would become far easier.
His confidence only grew stronger when the nearby whirlpool churned, and another demon emerged.
"Elaouthr! Come help me!", he shouted.
Although Elaouthr was still slightly disoriented from the teleportation and caught off guard by the sudden shout, he reacted almost immediately.
Without saying a single word, he entered the battlefield and began killing the Zerg Servants.
Soon, the first of them collapsed to the ground, its body cleaved into two.
A second one followed.
Then, another. And another.
Watching the battle on the opposite side of the plaza, Liora nodded inwardly.
These two truly deserved their reputation as Kings. Their combat prowess did not lag behind Devils of the same stage at all.
Even so, Liora maintained a solemn expression, continuing to clash fiercely against the Zerg Servants surrounding her.
Her fighting style appeared desperate.
Anyone unaware of the truth would have thought the Zerg in front of her had murdered her entire family and she was now trying to die with them.
Of course, this was far from the truth.
With her strength, there was no way that a bunch of Kings would bring her any trouble.
The reason she remained engaged in battle wasn’t that she couldn’t eliminate them, but because she was waiting, waiting for someone to arrive.
Only a few seconds later, the "someone" she had been waiting for finally showed up.
The Zerg Servants immediately rioted.
As though something within them had awakened, their bodies trembled violently while their auras rapidly soared.
At the same time, an overwhelming pressure descended.
It was not physical pressure or one produced by sheer force, but a mental one.
For a brief instant, Liora felt as though an enormous mountain had crashed upon her soul, threatening to crush it into pieces.
Although she recovered almost immediately, the mere fact that she had been affected at all was enough to demonstrate the newcomer’s strength.
Following the disturbance to its source, Liora noticed a figure.
It was another Zerg.
Unlike the insectoid Zerg Servants, however, this one possessed a humanoid form.
It was a woman.
With long black hair that flowed down her shoulders and a pair of pitch-black eyes resembling miniature black holes, she looked breathtakingly beautiful and alluring.
Every movement of hers resonated with the surrounding world, causing the atmosphere itself to brighten as though celebrating her arrival.
A Zerg Queen.
The title instantly surfaced in Liora’s mind.
Not only because she recognized the newcomer’s aura, but because of her unmistakable appearance.
Every Zerg Queen was extraordinarily beautiful. Likewise, every one of them excelled at illusion and soul attacks.
If the Zerg Servants did the "physical work" of the brood, then the Queens were masters of the mind.
The instant she appeared, she seemed to become the center of the entire world.
She let out a soft, seductive chuckle, raising one hand to cover her smile before casually waving the other.
"Come on, my children."
"Get to work.", she ordered as her mind stirred, intending to unleash a soul attack.
Yet just before she could act, her pupils suddenly shrank.
Without warning, a figure appeared beside her. At the same time, a colossal silhouette emerged high above her head and was reflected in her dark eyes.
Its giant shadow swallowed her as it fell down at an astonishing speed.
