Posting these because so many of you don't believe me.

Watch them and decide for yourselves whether it's bullshit or real.

└Heavenly Demon Fascinating no matter how many times I watch. Even its manner of speech belongs to a bygone age.

└Sword Masta I don't really know the language of the Central Plains. What's it saying?

└Heavenly Demon It says Sword Masta is a liar, and Heavenly Demon alone is great.

└Sword Masta There you go again, spewing bullshit every time you open your mouth...

└What's with the fake translation?

└You

└F***ing

└Bitch

└What the hell lmaooo

└Look at that teamwork lmaooo

└Allfather Aragon above. Not only the chief, but the gorilla beside it can speak too. This will send shock waves through academia...!

└Professor, could those gorillas pose a threat to us?

└Allfather That is unlikely. Though it might be another matter if they developed their own civilization in the Forest of Four Seasons.

└A civilization in the Forest of Four Seasons? Scary stuff.

└Those fuckers are strong too, right? lol And they can use tools.

└Now all they need is farming and we'll have humanity 2.0.

└Then do we call them beastfolk? Or what?

└Shouldn't they be classified as beastfolk?

└Suspiciously Even calling them beastfolk is a stretch. Their limb proportions are wrong.

└Allfather The commenter above is correct. To qualify as beastfolk, their bodily proportions must resemble those of humans.

└Smart Demonic Cultist Does anyone know its name, though? If it has a language, it must have a name, right?

└Wouldn't whoever taught it to talk have named it? Does Grylls know?

└Looks like he's off doing something else. He's not replying at all.

└Smart Demonic Cultist Then we'll have to name it. How about Sun Sixkong?

└Not Sun Wukong, but Sun Sixkong? What's that supposed to be? lmao

└Smart Demonic Cultist Sun Wukong is the name of a monkey in Central Plains mythology. This one's a gorilla, not a monkey, so bump the five in its name up to six. Sun Sixkong. Pretty fucking good, right?

└Fuck, are you a genius? Your IQ must be over 150!

└Smart Demonic Cultist I am pretty smart lol

└And yet here you are shitposting on the forum lmao

Typical forum. Throw them a big juicy piece of bait and they'd entertain themselves just fine. Occasionally, they even offered meaningful speculation, which made browsing very convenient.

'If everyone says it talks like someone from the old days, its teacher must have been from back then.'

The standout detail was that the gorilla chief used an old-fashioned manner of speech. Languages naturally changed over time. You needed look no further than the Republic of Korea: compare the language of fifty years ago with today's, and there were plenty of differences.

On top of that, the Righteous-Blood War some sixty years ago had reportedly brought major changes to the language of the Central Plains. In other words, the chief spoke the way someone from that era would.

'All sorts of things really have happened here.'

From the Undying King to the Righteous-Blood War. That was human history for you, roughly half of it punctuated by wars and battles. Fighting day in and day out was simply life.

'Same goes for this place.'

The wilderness was no different. A battle for survival unfolded here every single day. Hadn't the gorilla chief nearly killed me just now?

I was in no position to criticize anyone. As I'd said time and again, I had more than enough problems of my own. I considered how to spend the rest of the day. The chief had thrown my plans completely off course, so they needed revising.

'Should I... put up the door and walls?'

One palm strike from the gorilla chief would bring down any wall or door. Even in The Three Little Pigs, the brick house had held firm. But the chief was a being that rendered all of that pointless.

'At least it apologized, so it won't be invading my territory again.'

But there was no telling where another creature as strong as the chief might pop up. That meant a structure I'd painstakingly built could collapse with a single flick. And why stop at the structure? The entire cave could cave in, along with my spirits.

'Forget the door and walls. I'll just install CCTV.'

That made it easy to give up on the idea. I should count myself lucky I'd realized it early. If the chief had appeared and knocked everything down after I'd finished building, my despair would have been twice as bad.

That didn't mean I could let my belongings be stolen right under my nose. Losing fasting pills was tolerable, but the moment someone stole the Elixir, my life would be in danger.

'I'll hide the important stuff under the floor.'

I'd dig a hole and cleverly cover it with the tiger hide. I'd even add charcoal to mask the scent, just in case. To do that, I'd have to dig some way into the hard cave floor.

'Can I dig through it with a pickaxe?'

There was some dirt mixed into the cave floor, but most of it was stone. It would be difficult unless I used a hammer or a rock to break through. Besides, I couldn't use my left arm yet, so for now I'd only scout out a spot.

'Somewhere around here should do.'

I found a relatively soft spot and marked it. I could make the alterations once I judged my left arm fully healed—in other words, after lunch.

SMACK, SMACK! SMACK, SMACK, SMACK!

"Oh, Roundfur."

You really shouldn't eat that many bananas. You'll get diarrhea. Just how delicious were they for him to eat them peel and all? He'd already eaten four by himself.

In the end, I had no choice but to hide the bananas somewhere else too. Roundfur flailed in protest, but there was nothing for it.

'That more or less... takes care of things?'

I seemed to have sorted out everything that needed sorting. I planned to start digging the floor around lunchtime.

It was now about eleven. Since the gorilla chief had shown up first thing in the morning, I had plenty of time.

'I'll light the oven first. Then head up to the river and check the traps.'

Splinted left hand or not, things still needed doing. I got to my feet. Then I wondered what I should feed the speed-sloth. All it had eaten until now was fasting pills, so I didn't really know its staple diet.

"Speedy, what do you eat? We're out of fasting pills."

"..."

The speed-sloth raised a claw and pointed. I turned my head to follow it.

SPLASH! SPLASH!

The metal tub full of fish. Was it saying it ate fish? I gave it a questioning look, and it nodded.

'Come to think of it, didn't it try to steal my fish at first?'

I still remembered it vividly. It had been creeping slowly toward the fish to steal one when I'd caught it red-handed. I'd been utterly dumbfounded at the time. Of course, in reality, Speedy had been showing me mercy.

'If both it and the gorillas like fish...'

Was fish something like rice soup? Good old rice soup, delicious even if it had gotten so expensive lately that calling it "food for ordinary folk" was a joke.

It seemed likely, given how difficult catching fish would be for both gorillas and speed-sloths. After all, there was a golden frog planted right by the water. Without a fish trap, it would be tough.

"All right. I'll give you fish for now. You eat it raw like Roundfur, right?"

"..."

It nodded again. That settled its meals for the time being. With the speed-sloth on my back and Roundfur accompanying me, I set off. When we reached the river, I found two fish caught in the trap.

'Three this morning. Two for lunch. Not bad.'

There were still plenty in reserve. About three or four, I thought. I'd have to ration them, since I needed to account for the speed-sloth's diet for a while. If it came to it, I'd have to eat smoked meat.

'The time to provide for myself is gradually coming.'

With one unexpected event after another, it felt like I was becoming less dependent on the forum. No, it was thanks to the forum that I'd survived this long.

As I cleaned the fish, I removed the inner core from its innards.

A hand slid out.

"Huh?"

The moment I extracted the core, the speed-sloth beside me held out its hand, as if asking me to give it the core. I looked between its face and its hand, then asked incredulously,

"You want the inner core?"

It answered with a nod. I was a little dumbfounded, but then I considered it. Honestly, I had more inner cores than I knew what to do with. Every fish I dispatched added another to the pile. Maybe giving them to the speed-sloth one at a time would be better.

"Here you go."

"..."

The speed-sloth popped the round core straight into its mouth. Apparently, it was eating it as a substitute for fasting pills. It frowned slightly, though, as if it didn't taste quite as good.

Still, it would be plenty for one meal. It should contain far more mana than a fasting pill.

'But eating inner cores like regular meals?'

That was fascinating in its own right. Just how strong was this creature? I kept stealing glances at the speed-sloth as I finished cooking. My left arm was a little awkward, but cleaning the fish and putting it in the oven wasn't difficult.

'Good thing the gorillas didn't wreck the oven.'

Now that I'd filled my stomach, it was time to practice my internal energy cultivation method. I'd originally intended to start consuming inner cores today, but with my arm in this state, I'd put it off.

I'd probably eat one this evening. It wouldn't be long now before I grew stronger.

'My arm... seems pretty much healed.'

The arm I'd injected with Elixir seemed more or less recovered. Of course, I had no intention of exploring or anything like that. I planned to stay holed up at home all day.

I tapped my left arm in various places and nodded. It felt sturdier than before.

'Let's dig up the cave floor first.'

It would be a hiding place for the Elixir and my other valuables. The gorillas wouldn't invade again, but you never knew. They were intelligent creatures; there had to be some with thieving inclinations.

I bought a suitably sized pickaxe through the forum.

'Thinking back, I learned all sorts of things in the military.'

I'd learned to use both a shovel and a pickaxe there. At the time, I'd grumbled about where I'd ever use those skills, but they were proving very useful now.

You never knew how life's fortunes would turn. I gave a hollow laugh and moved over.

'Centrifugal force from a full swing. Then let the pickaxe's own weight do the work, rather than brute strength.'

If I stupidly tried to muscle through it, I'd only hurt my back and hands. I'd learned that the hard way in the military. Getting injured had let me take it easy for a bit back then, but there'd been no leniency afterward.

Entertaining those idle thoughts, I swung the pickaxe in a full circle. From there, I added a little force and brought it down on my chosen spot.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANK!

Worried it might not break easily, I even used aura as I started swinging. Fortunately, the cave floor wasn't all that hard and broke apart readily.

'I'll need to fit a whole chest in there, so let's make it a little deep.'

It needed to be wide as well as deep. I might need to put all sorts of other things in it, not just valuables. I swung the pickaxe diligently, settling into a rhythm. Bit by bit, the hole in the floor took shape.

CLANG! CLANK! CLANK!

At some point, though, I stopped making much progress. I seemed to have hit a different kind of rock. Still, if I kept at it, it would eventually break. With that in mind, I persevered patiently.

CLANG!

"Seriously."

CLANK!

"Why!"

CLAAANG!!!

"Won't you break!!"

Finally, I got so angry that I hurled the pickaxe away. Just how hard was this stuff that even an aura-infused pickaxe couldn't dig through it?

I stared irritably at the hole, only about half as deep as I'd wanted. There were piles of loose stones around it, so I cleared them all away by hand.

Something glittered.

Clearing the rubble revealed a stone with a striking green hue. No, it was more like ore than ordinary stone. Having seen orichalcum, I could tell.

"Now what the hell is this?"

Now I couldn't even dig a hole. It felt like God was screwing me over for no reason. That aside, just what was this ore that wouldn't yield even to a pickaxe?

I immediately took a picture and posted it on the forum.

Anyone know what this is?

Wild Grylls

(Photo of a mineral glowing green)

I was digging a hole to store my valuables and this shit turned up.

What the hell is it? Is it that mithril or whatever someone mentioned before?

It's so fucking hard my hands hurt.

└Passing Dwarf Uh. Yeah, that does look like mithril.

└Wild Grylls ?

It actually was?
