The battle between the woman and the remaining silhouettes was even more terrifying than the one before.
Those still standing were the strongest among them, far surpassing those who were now dead.
Previously, they had been unwilling to use their strongest trump cards for no reason.
Now that their lives were in danger, however, they could no longer hold back.
Method after method was used.
Abilities. Treasures. Unknown powers.
Despite their improved strength, Liora was strangely able to observe their fight this time.
At the same time, the same voice constantly rang inside her mind.
"One Across Eternity!"
"Time Severance!"
"Force Union!"
The woman used one ability after another.
Perhaps because of their connection, Liora discovered that she could gain some insights by observing her perform them.
Insights flooded her mind, slowly but surely intertwining into techniques.
Seeing this, Liora didn’t hesitate to urge her consciousness and the power of the Cosmic Sea, trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
Time slowly passed. A fight of such a level took a long time.
Days, months, years passed.
Silhouette after silhouette was struck down.
Yet although she held the advantage, the woman did not escape unscathed.
More and more wounds accumulated on her body. Her aura fluctuated violently.
She seemed unable to use Return to the Origin to return to her previous state.
She could only continue fighting, hoping that she would kill her opponents before she died.
Her gamble seemed to have paid off.
Following a loud scream, the last silhouette, the leading man, was also killed.
The woman was the only one remaining in the Origin Sea.
Most of the surrounding worlds had long since exploded. Even the essence of the Origin Sea seemed to have been affected, with the Supreme Laws wailing loudly.
Yet it was not as though the woman had suffered no harm.
Her body constantly flickered, threatening to disappear.
Observing from afar, Liora had the illusion that she was about to become part of the River of Time.
This sounded grand. However, the result would be that she would perish!
Liora continued watching. She wanted to see how the woman would choose to deal with her current state.
Unfortunately, she had no chance to find out.
Before she could react, the images in her field of vision began to crack. A moment later, they shattered completely.
Just like before, a new one emerged to replace them.
This time, there were only two protagonists.
The crimson-haired woman and a brown-haired woman, who had never appeared before.
The latter stood far away.
As for the former, her body had turned large enough to tower above the Origin Sea, with her hand seemingly reaching toward something in the depths of its space.
A supreme, transcendent aura rose from the place where her hand dug into.
However, Liora was not given a chance to observe further.
The image shattered just like the ones before it.
"No! No!"
Only a scream echoed in her mind before her consciousness was forced to return to reality.
When Liora opened her eyes again, she discovered that she was standing in the Kingdom of God.
Alpha was still beside her, while the future version of her was resting on top of her palm.
Originally, a soul search would have caused the person undergoing the investigation to suffer great harm.
Yet the soul remained intact. Its aura didn’t even fluctuate.
Liora stared at this scene briefly before choosing to ignore it for the time being.
As her consciousness spread out, she confirmed that even though she had spent several years inside the illusions, barely a split second had passed in reality.
The images seemed to exist in a different dimension, ignoring both time and space.
Liora raised her eyebrows.
She glanced at Alpha, who stood beside her with a complicated expression, and shook her head.
"I was unable to find anything. It seems that some kind of seal has been placed on your so-called future self," she sighed.
"However, I’ll keep this soul for now."
"If I find anything wrong, I’ll inform you as soon as possible."
Alpha immediately breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that there was nothing wrong with Liora.
As for Liora taking the soul away? She didn’t mind.
If anything, she was relieved.
Although the soul claimed to be her future self, Alpha had never trusted it. She had always felt that it was part of some greater conspiracy.
Now, in Liora’s hands, whatever plan it had would be ruined.
Seeing Alpha’s reaction, Liora spoke no further. After giving a few instructions and asking her to deal with the aftermath, she sent her away while returning to the Kingdom of God’s core.
The accumulated faith of the Divine Emperor had long since disappeared.
Liora did not mind.
She sat beside the core, her mind working to analyze everything that had happened.
From her advancement to an Ancient Devil, to the imprinting of her traces across the timeline, the appearance of "future Alpha", and finally the images.
Everything she had experienced continuously flashed through her mind.
Only after some time did she recover. Her eyes regained their brilliance.
Recalling the scenes she had seen in future Alpha’s memories, she did not show any panic.
If anything, a faint smile appeared on her face.
"I didn’t expect that I would have such great gains."
"My advancement to the Ancient Devil stage has indeed brought my strength to the next level."
"However, before I gain further experience and manage to develop my own methods, I will be unable to unleash my full potential."
Now, this was no longer the case.
As she went through the many techniques she had glimpsed from the battle that had shaken the Origin Sea, her eyes shone with excitement.
She knew that as long as she practiced a few of them, her strength would be brought to the next level.
Originally, Ancient Devil-level techniques would have been extremely difficult to practice, requiring eons to comprehend, much less master.
However, Liora faced no such issue.
If there was anything her current self could do best, it was practice techniques!
She didn’t hesitate.
With a thought, her consciousness descended into the Cosmic Sea, her phantom settling on the banks of the River of Time.
Instantly, the time outside her body paused. Or rather, the flow of time around Liora’s consciousness changed.
