Millions of silhouettes versus a single lone figure.
The outcome of the war should have been predictable.
After all, although the power of the central figure appeared to be higher than the rest of them, the two sides stood on the same level.
At most, there was a difference in combat prowess and in the variety of their methods.
Yet as the lights retreated and the clashing concepts faded away, that prediction was proven both correct and incorrect.
Correct because the central figure had indeed been seriously injured.
Countless wounds riddled her body, while a sea of blood formed beneath her wherever she went, corroding space, time, and the essence of the Origin Sea.
However, it was also incorrect.
Because...
Liora raised her head, her eyes still filled with surprise.
From the millions of silhouettes that had originally been besieging the figure, only a dozen remained.
The rest of them had disappeared!
From the lack of any remaining aura, it was clear that they were completely dead. They had no chance of being revived.
All their traces in the timeline had been forcefully removed.
More importantly, Liora noticed something strange.
Although they had previously been difficult to distinguish, she had still memorized some of the silhouettes’ characteristics, planning to search for them in the real world once she went back.
But as her vision became clearer, she noticed that her memories of these silhouettes were becoming increasingly blurry.
Each of their characteristics gradually faded away.
Before she could react, Liora found that she knew nothing about these silhouettes apart from the fact that they had once existed.
As for anything else, including their abilities, auras, or characteristics, it had been removed from her memories.
"Are they being directly erased from the world itself?" Liora couldn’t help but wonder.
Her intuition told her that she was not the only person affected by this.
Whether it was anyone who simply knew these silhouettes or even their close friends and family, their memories of them would start to become blurry until they were unable to recognize them at all.
In a matter of moments, their closest companions would turn into complete strangers!
Liora was stunned.
This level of power was something she could not comprehend at the moment, much less on such a huge scale.
However, just as she was preparing to dig deeper into her mind and try to search for the missing memories, she was forcefully brought back to the images.
The two sides stopped for a split second and faced each other silently.
Then, for the first time, a sound echoed through the devastated Origin Sea.
"Primordial, give up! You’ve already been cursed by the All-Knowing Eye and received the Punishment of the Supreme Laws."
"You can no longer escape!"
The leading silhouette suddenly spoke. His hoarse voice revealed that he was a man.
"As long as you stop resisting and accept being sealed for one million Eras, we can let you survive. There is no reason to struggle any further."
As the man spoke, a terrifying momentum soared from his body, far surpassing the Ancient Devil stage and perhaps even the stage beyond that.
Combined with his words, he looked truly invincible.
However, Liora’s eyes became strange.
She wasn’t fooled by the man’s outward behavior. She knew that deep down, he was scared!
Otherwise, why would he have agreed to let the woman go even after she had killed millions of his companions? There was absolutely no reason to show mercy.
Clearly, although she had been injured, the man did not believe that the following battle would be harmless for his side.
At the same time, Liora noted down several terms.
Primordial. Divine Eye. Punishment of the Supreme Laws.
She knew very well that these were things that would greatly impact her future.
In the meantime, the man continued trying to convince the figure.
"Your essence has already been dried up. Your world has been reduced to ruins."
"Primordial, you have no chance of escaping. Just give up and accept being sealed," he said, his momentum coordinating with his companions to oppress the unknown figure.
Instantly, the wounds covering her body burst open.
Even more blood poured out, and her skin cracked apart like a porcelain doll.
Despite this, none of the silhouettes chose to take action, including the man threatening her.
They seemed determined to make the woman surrender rather than kill her.
Unfortunately for them, she didn’t seem to share the same objective.
She simply raised her hand.
Although Liora was merely facing her back, she could sense a supreme indifference radiating from her eyes.
Then, the woman lifted her hand.
A strangely shaped sword materialized in her palm, illusory yet real at the same time.
Both Liora and the silhouettes thought that she was going to attack them.
The latter braced themselves, raising several layers of defense in response.
However, contrary to their expectations, the woman did not target them.
Instead, she let the sword go, controlling it to hover above her head.
Her mouth opened, and she spoke for the first time.
"Kill the past self to give birth to the new..."
"Everything returns to the Origin and achieves Nirvana..."
Her words did not seem to be addressed to the silhouettes.
Rather, they appeared to have been spoken for the world itself to hear.
The next moment, the sword above struck.
It directly landed on her head and tore through her body.
Yet it caused no blood to fly out.
It merely split her apart. Her body turned illusory as it slowly collapsed to the ground.
However, the silhouettes did not celebrate her "death."
That was because a second figure had appeared directly where the original one had once stood.
In fact, it had directly walked out of the broken body, like a cicada shedding its shell and appearing in the world for the first time.
The figure’s appearance remained the same.
What was different, though, was that the countless wounds that had previously covered her body had disappeared.
Not only had she regained her full strength, but she had also taken a step beyond her previous peak.
The figure’s aura had grown significantly stronger.
Liora was originally surprised to see this.
Yet the moment she recalled the scene of the woman’s rebirth and the sword that had struck her, her vision became blurry.
Countless insights collided in her mind, soon fusing into a complete technique.
"Return to the Origin!" Liora subconsciously muttered as she tried her best to digest the technique’s contents.
Unfortunately, her train of thought was soon cut off.
The battle had started again.
This time, the one taking the initiative was the woman.
Her voice rang directly in Liora’s mind as she chose to attack.
"One Across Eternity!"
